About FNF: Hyp Mix

FNF: Hyp Mix is a Friday Night Funkin' music mod that puts players back into the classic showdowns, but with new visuals and remixed songs. Instead of playing as Boyfriend, you are playing as Hyp, a different character who is white and has a quirky style. This project is about remixing old songs, designing unique character visuals and creating a unique rhythmic experience.

8 remixes you should listen to

The v0.5 demo also introduces a “Freeplay” mode, where you can pick songs instead of having to play through a set series of challenges. The lineup features eight tracks associated with iconic Friday Night Funkin' opponents, ranging from Daddy Dearest to Tankman.

Each level retains the signature setting of the original game. You’ll encounter the Dearest family’s stage, the spooky atmosphere of Skid and Pump, and the pixelated school world of Senpai. Hyp takes center stage for the performances, while Midy steps into the role typically held by Girlfriend.

The tracks included in this mod are:

  • Dadbattle: Face off against Daddy Dearest in a classic rap battle.
  • Spookeez: Compete against the duo Skid and Pump in a spooky setting.
  • Pico: Encounter Pico once again, set to a fresh remix.
  • High: Test your skills against Mommy Mearest.
  • Cocoa: Return to a stage themed around the holiday season.
  • Senpai: Master the rhythms within a pixelated world.
  • Ugh: Go head-to-head with Tankman in a track that demands quick reflexes.
  • Lit Up: Enjoy a remixed version of a song from "Weekend 1".

How to play FNF Hyp Mix

How to play FNF: Hyp Mix

Choose a song

Go to 'Freeplay' mode and select any one of the eight different tracks. You can start with Dadbattle or Spookeez to get a feel for the rhythm mechanics before moving on to more up-tempo songs.

Sing the notes

Hit the matching notes with your keyboard arrow keys as they reach the target zone. For sustained (long) notes, hold down the key for the entire duration indicated.

Stay on your accuracy

Press the keys in time with the music to keep your health bar in the safe zone. Making consecutive mistakes can cause you to lose your advantage during the performance.

Work on the hard stuff

Learn specific note sequences by playing individual tracks. The fast-paced sections in "High" and "Ugh" are worth focusing on if you want to improve your accuracy.
