About FNF vs Alphabet Lore
FNF vs Alphabet Lore is a Friday Night Funkin’ mod that takes Boyfriend into the world of Alphabet Lore. Boyfriend will take on F instead of other familiar FNF opponents and experience a story told through music, visuals and cutscenes.
This is a very short mod with only two songs, Coward and Friend. There are only two stages, but each song is about a particular aspect of the encounter, and the story is told concisely without having to be stretched out into a full week.
What is your objective?
The main objective is to bring Boyfriend to two rap battles to finish the story. You will play as Coward then Friend, while seeing the interactions between Boyfriend and the characters from the Alphabet Lore universe.
Arrows move towards the receptor area during each song; press the corresponding keys exactly when they align. Maintaining a steady pace will improve your chances of completing the song without losing health too fast.
What’s new in this game?
- Alphabet Lore World: Boyfriend is dropped into a setting that is entirely letter-based and away from the usual FNF locations.
- F as the Quintessential Character: F plays a critical role in the confrontation. It is a key to the story.
- Two-Song Format: Instead of the normal long Week format, this mod tells the entire story using the songs Coward and Friend.
- Storytelling Through Cutscenes: Cutscenes connect the rap battles and expand on the events surrounding Boyfriend and the Alphabet Lore universe.
- Two Songs, Two Story Segments: Coward starts the encounter. Friend takes the plot in a different direction.
- Crossover Style: Iconic Alphabet Lore characters and visuals perfectly merge with the classic rhythm mechanics of Friday Night Funkin'.

Matchup FNF vs. Alphabet Lore Gameplay Hints
Don't rush when facing note streams
During the opening sections of Coward, use the time to get accustomed to the note speed rather than trying to hit keys as fast as possible. When a group of arrows appears in quick succession, track the entire sequence with your eyes instead of constantly shifting your gaze from one key to another. Maintaining a steady rhythm from the start makes the later sections much easier to handle.
Concentrate on the target zone, not on individual arrows
A good tip is to keep your eyes on the area where the arrows are going to hit the target. Beginners tend to follow individual notes from the time they first come, but this can be confusing when multiple notes appear simultaneously. Then wait for them to come to the target zone and react to the rhythm, especially in the transition to Friend.
Don’t let a few missed notes derail your rhythm
If you miss one or two notes, don’t immediately try to compensate by rushing your inputs. This can often lead to errors on later notes. Go past the mistake and continue on the beat at the next note. It’s much better to keep the flow going than to try and salvage a note you’ve already missed.
Listen to the song so you can hear what the rhythm is before you look at the notes
But after a couple of listens, you’ll hear that parts of Coward and Friend have very particular, memorable rhythms. Listen to the melody, not just your eyes, and let it cue you for upcoming note sequences. Once your ears get used to the tempo, it will be easier for you to react to fast streams of arrows, and you will be less likely to be surprised by a speed increase.
Discussion
FNF vs. Alphabet Lore doesn’t need a huge tracklist to deliver a memorable adventure. This is a mod with only the songs Coward and Friend, where Boyfriend is thrown into the world of Alphabet Lore where he meets F and continues the story through a series of rap battles. If you enjoy short mods with a strong crossover theme and want to try a unique showdown with letter-based characters, begin with Coward and keep your rhythm tight, then complete Friend to experience the story in full.
